I spend a lot of time in archives. I go there looking for photographs of men together — bathing, resting, sitting close, touching. The archives have plenty of these images. They're catalogued under headings like "soldiers at leisure" or "troops bathing." What they are never catalogued under is intimacy. But intimacy is what I see.
